What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® Cosmetic injections are shots of an injectable used to treat wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic or botulinum toxin Type A, temporarily reduces the area’s underlying muscle activity, reducing the appearance of wrinkles. This injectable can be used for various reasons, most commonly cosmetic or medical reasons.
Over time, repeated muscle movements from frowning, squinting, or raising your eyebrows can cause the skin to crease, leading to the development of facial lines.
BOTOX® Cosmetic targets these muscles beneath the skin’s surface, temporarily reducing their activity to smooth out moderate to severe frown lines, crow’s feet, and forehead lines in adults—helping you achieve a refreshed and smoother appearance.
BOTOX® Cosmetic Injections may also be used to treat medical conditions, including:

First and foremost, ensure your healthcare provider has a current list of your medications and supplements. There are certain medications that increase the risk of bruising at the injection site.
Your licensed healthcare provider will use a fine needle to inject small amounts of BOTOX® Cosmetic into the specific treatment area. BOTOX® Cosmetic is an outpatient procedure that typically lasts minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated.
Discomfort is typically mild, and it can take up to 14 days for full effects to be evident. Regarding BOTOX® Cosmetic aftercare, don’t rub or put pressure on the area for 12 hours after treatment, and avoid physical exertion for 24 hours. It’s best to stay upright and avoid lying down for 3-4 hours after the procedure to prevent incorrect settling.
On average, BOTOX® Cosmetic injections last about three to four months, at which time retreatment is recommended. Eventually, muscles can train themselves to contract less, and as a result, treatments may be more spaced out over longer periods of time. Your licensed expert can help you learn how often you should get BOTOX® Cosmetic based on your unique needs.
Is BOTOX® Cosmetic cosmetic-exclusive? No! In addition to providing a host of cosmetic-related, wrinkle-reducing treatments, BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used medically for pain management.
BOTOX® Cosmetic blocks nerve signals to muscles, causing their activity to reduce temporarily, and this often brings a sense of pain relief to those who suffer from various types of pain or other medical conditions.
Please note: while BOTOX® Cosmetic can be used to improve symptoms of certain medical conditions, we only provide treatment options for Hyperhidrosis and the masseter muscles (related to causes of TMJ).
Because each client’s need is unique, the price for BOTOX® Cosmetic varies. We provide upfront and transparent pricing before treatments at the time of the consultation, verbally and in writing. For more information, book a complimentary consultation with us today!
The effects of BOTOX® Cosmetic are always temporary, but they can last for several months.

While some patients experience a stinging sensation during the treatment due to the incredibly fine needle used, this feeling typically only lasts a few seconds or minutes. For most, BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment is relatively painless.

The FDA originally approved it in 1989 for blepharospasm and other eye muscle problems, and in 2002, it was also approved for cosmetic treatments.
