Why would I want to add Dermal Fillers to my PDO Thread treatment?

Enhancing your PDO Threat Treatment with Dermal Fillers

Let’s first go over what each service provides…

Dermal Filler treatments are wonderful for “filling” in areas of lost volume. If you think about the skin tissue underneath the eyes, the thinning of lips, loss of volume in your cheeks, and the nasolabial folds which are the lines that go from the sides of your nostrils and slant down to your lips, these are all areas of volume loss that occur with age.

Dermal Filler injection treatments such as Allergan’s Juvederm line of dermal fillers and Galderma’s Restylane line of dermal fillers focus on this volume loss.  Different dermal fillers are used for different areas of volume loss.  For instance, Juvederm Voluma is used to lift and fill in a patient’s cheek volume loss whereas Juvederm Ultra is used to fill in lip volume loss.

Dermal Fillers have been used for cosmetic use since the early 2000s and are a tried and proven method for getting your facial skin to a more youthful appearance.  They typically last 9-12 months and then are repeated to continue creating youthfulness. They are tremendous for anti-aging.  Women and men that use dermal fillers on a regular basis do not show their age as they would if they weren’t utilizing the assistance of dermal fillers. And the best part is that it is never too late to get started with this procedure. We inject all ages of clientele with the majority being age 40-80.  It used to be said that age 65 was the cutoff but we have seen great results with clients who are even older.

PDO Threads are another wonderful option but not for volume loss but rather for lifting. They have been used for cosmetic use since around 2010 and are also tried and proven.  Lifting is different than volume loss. A PDO Thread Lift procedure comes into play when you think necks, cheeks, jowls, eyelids, and other body parts. Yes, PDO Thread lift treatments can even be used to lift breasts, buttocks, and even the sagging skin that occurs above the knee or what is known as the “distal” area.

PDO Threads are injected and then “pulled” tight to tighten up the patient’s skin. They dissolve on their own within 5-6 months and they last approximately 2 years.  You can add additional threads for more tightening if you wish at any time. And they too can be used at any time; any age.

Now to answer the question of “why would I want to add Dermal Fillers along with my PDO Thread Lift” becomes easier to understand.  For necks, there aren’t any fillers on the market to do this. There are injectables for dissolving fat in the neck but not for tightening.  So, for necks and other body parts, PDO Threads are the only way to achieve lifting other than surgery.  But when it comes to cheeks, lips, and nasal labial folds, patients can use PDO Threads for the “lift” and Dermal Fillers to add in the “volume loss”. Skin in these areas doesn’t only droop but also sags from loss of collagen and elastin causing a loss of “volume”.
