MicroPeel is a combination of two separate services coming together in one service. The two services are Micro Needling and Chemical Peels. Microneedling and Chemical peels have been used extensively for decades with great results and are great facial options for just overall rejuvenation.
This new combination of the two treatments will “pack a punch” and be much more impactful than doing each treatment separately. While both treatments individually are wonderful, doing them in combination brings even further results.
Microneedling is the process of utilizing multiple needles to puncture skin in order to bring about resurfacing and rejuvenation. Rejuvenation of your skin as it pertains to needling would be to reduce scarring, improve pore size, increase collagen and even tighten skin via resurfacing. However, it is also sometimes used to reduce pigment in darker skin type persons.
Microneedling is typically utilized in depths from .25mm to 2.5mm depending on the area of the skin we are treating. For doing this particular treatment on the face, however, we will keep it in a range between 1.0mm to 1.5mm.
Chemical Peels are the process of regeneration of new skin. I like to say it as “out with the old; up with the new” as it pertains to getting rid of the old top layer(s) and bringing up the new skin below.
Chemical Peels are utilized for acne, anti-aging such as wrinkling, pigmentation reduction and for all over rejuvenation. Chemical Peels when combined with microneedling will be more impactful because the micro-channels that we create will allow the peel to drop much deeper than it would on its own.
When combining these two treatments, you will be generating new collagen, tightening your skin, generating new surface layer skin, reducing pore size, reducing scarring, lightening pigment and getting rid of all dullness completely. In fact, your skin will glow!
Downtime will occur after this treatment. Best rule of thumb is to not have any plans immediately after your treatment as your skin will be red and a bit swollen and additionally we find it best not to have plans for two days after the treatment. This will allow your swelling and redness to reduce significantly. Peeling will occur 2-4 days after the initial treatment and we will provide this post treatment healing kit to you at no additional cost. The kit contains soothing and hydrating products that will last 5-7 days getting you all the way through to amazing new skin.
