Laser hair removal is a convenient, noninvasive method for reducing or removing unwanted facial or body hair. It leaves the skin looking smoother and silkier than waxing, sugaring, electrolysis or razors and is a gentle technique that can treat larger areas effectively with minimal discomfort and with no downtime. Laser hair removal is one of the most common aesthetic procedures performed.
If you have unwanted facial or body hair that makes you feel self-conscious. If you are looking for an alternative to waxing, sugaring, electrolysis, shaving and you want to save a whole lot of money vs. waxing.
*Laser Hair Removal is an 8 series and possible follow up maintenance from 1-3 treatments more for a reduction of hair from 85-100% – see cost below for small/medium/large areas.
By comparison, Waxing/Sugaring Hair Removal you will be doing for years and years with costs on-going. The difference in pricing between Laser Hair Removal and Waxing/Sugaring is more than significant, it’s crazy!
Before your hair removal treatment, protective eye shields will typically be placed over your eyes to prevent injury to your corneas or retinas. The hair that will be undergoing treatment must be shaved within 24hrs ahead of treatment time.
To protect the outer layers of your skin, a cold gel will be applied. This will also make the treatment more effective and comfortable by facilitating light penetration through the skin. Devices for hair removal use a low-energy beam which will be adjusted to your skin color and to the color, thickness, and location of the hair that is to be removed.
A test treatment will first be done by directing a test pulse light to the treatment area. A low-energy light beam will pass through your skin and be absorbed by the pigment of a percentage of the active-growth hair follicles. This area will be observed to make sure that the settings are correct and to check for any adverse reactions to treatment. If the test proves successful, the low-energy beam is then systematically directed spot-by-spot to the areas to be treated, instantly disabling the active-growth hair follicles with each treatment.
Multiple sessions are required for optimal results. Usually 6-9 are needed initially, but additional maintenance treatments at later dates should be expected, especially if you have endogenous hormone secreting states or exogenous hormone use or have a lot of thick, coarse hair. We typically like to do a 6-series and allow you to decide if maintenance appointments thereafter are needed. Many clients may need 1-3 more over the course of the next 1 yr period to get to the full results.
We recommend treatment intervals of 2-8 weeks depending on the area of treatment, but usually like to stick to 4 weeks which will accommodate all areas of treatment. See protocols below. These intervals are very important to stick to due to the hair growth stages. We need to ensure that we meet the stages with each treatment for best and quickest results.
